Insomnia affects up to 30% of the general population, leading many to search for solutions to help them sleep better. A study was conducted on 29 volunteers with clinical insomnia to evaluate the tolerability and potential efficacy of medical cannabis oil (Entoura-10:15).
The study used various methods to measure the effects of the treatment, including diaries to assess tolerability, melatonin levels in midnight saliva to measure efficacy, and validated questionnaires such as the Insomnia Severity Index and an activity/sleep tracker.
Overall, the study found that Entoura-10:15 cannabis oil was well tolerated and potentially effective in improving sleep quality. By the end of the two-week treatment period, 60% of participants were no longer clinically classified as having insomnia. Midnight melatonin levels were also significantly improved, with a 30% reduction in the active group compared to a 20% reduction in the control group (p = 0.035).
Medical cannabis oil was found to improve both sleep time and quality, with light sleep increasing by 21 minutes per night compared to placebo (p = 0.041). Overall sleep quality was improved by 80% in the active group (pPhase2 = 0.003). While effects were more pronounced in phase 2 due to menstrual effects and vision loss, the study concluded that Entoura-10:15 hemp oil was well tolerated and effective for improving sleep in adults with insomnia.
It’s important to note that further research is needed to fully understand the potential benefits and risks of using medical cannabis or hemp products for sleep issues. Additionally, it’s important to comply with relevant laws and regulations when discussing such products.
